About this Home: Three wonderful ladies live at the STL home on Hale St. in Beverly. They all require support with personal care but also want to be as independent as possible and love staff that are upbeat and engaging with them. They enjoy getting their nails done, listening to music, and chatting with staff and friends. They also enjoy going out in their community, enjoying downtown Beverly, and going on trips to the mall or to catch a movie.
Job Summary:
Provides quality living supports and supervision for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in residential settings. Promotes independence, dignity, and community integration through direct care, skill-building, and supportive relationships.
Major Responsibilities:
- Provide Direct Care and support the clinical and social needs of the individuals receiving services.
- Document accurately and thoroughly, including in Inter-Team Communication Logs, Health Records, Daily Data Books and Fire Drill Logs as outlined in Northeast Arc Policy and Procedures
- Serve as a role model for individuals and assist in developing social skills.
- Provide opportunities for individuals to have choices, whenever possible
- Provide hands-on support at the home, including individualized supports in transferring, bathing and grooming, and following specific dining protocols and treatments.
- Administer medications according to Northeast Arc Policies and Procedures and MAPs Regulations. Support Drs appointments, ER and hospital visits and contact on-call nursing appropriately.
- Maintain a safe work environment by following Universal Precautions, ensuring that emergency exits are clear and accessible at all times and maintaining staffing ratios as outlined in contracts with funding agencies and House Safety Plans.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- At least one year of human services experience strongly preferred.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
- Ability to build respectful, ethical, and empowering relationships with individuals served.
- Strong communication skills with individuals, families, and professionals.
- Commitment to helping individuals achieve their goals and dreams.
- certifications (First Aid, CPR, MAP, etc.). are a must.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods, bend, push wheelchairs, and assist with transfers.
Work Environment:
- Works in a community-based home setting with multiple residents or individuals living independently.
Job Type: On-Site Full-Time
Schedule: Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday | 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
Pay Rate: $22.00–$23.00 per hour
